Biography:

Says frontman $ucksex of himself and the group, ”I'm awesome. I'm basically a superstar in waiting. I take Hard Corey and DJ Tanner beats and I elevate them to greatness. I'm the best mc in Chicago and probably the western hempisphere and I prove it constantly in my every day life on the streets or in the back alleys where I'm being. I sell tons of records, I fuck realllllllllly hot girls, I regularly meet with people way more famous than you and do things that only really awesome famous people do, I'm just not quite famous yet. My cock is 10 feet long and I have infinite lives. True story.“

Producer, Supermodel, and professional dancer Hard Corey is more coy about the group's purpose saying, ”Well, $ucksex is definitely a talented mc, but without my beats he'd be just another white kid on VH-1 claiming to be a rapper. I give him the sugar, flour, and eggs to bake his cakes and pies, if you will. He wouldn't be boning so many hot chicks after shows if not for me. But, in conclusion, there's really no more awesome combination than the two of us and a bottle of Formula 50 Grape Vitamin Water and a waffle.“

So what do they sound like? $ucksex says, ”Press the play button. If for some reason you're too dumb to manage that, we sound like that totally pumped up noise you make when you're watching the original Power Rangers and Tommy the Green Ranger blows his knife flute and the Dragonzord comes up and you just know there's some ass that is about to be kicked so you jump out of your seat and punch a wall and scream a war whoop and call your own mom a tramp. Its like...boil down awesome, sprinkle some William Shatner, Bloodhound Gang, mc chris, and Eminem and mix in boning a lot of hot chicks...excuse me, hot broads, and you have the basics of the sonic idea expoused by the Former Fat Boys' music. We're nerdcore hip-hop, but we're not. We're mainstream hip-hop, but we're not. We're pop, but we're not. We're like a whole genre unto ourselves and because we are continually awesome and timeless we call our genre: Shatnercore. If you really want to find out some stuff and facts about how awesome we are that's what google and the kid who runs our wikipedia are for. We just make music because that's what gets us countless hot dames and plenty of gold.“

The group hails from Geneva, IL with roots in Chicago and Park Ridge, IL as well as the east coast. By roots we’re talking they used to watch He-Man and when they did, that’s where their TV’s were located. The group is mainly the brainchild of $ucksex and Hard Corey (Corey Wills from Chicago band Inspector Owl). Other cast members who appear on the album are Dirty Erik (Erik Skulborstad) and Chris Lawton. The boys are a sight to see live and shows mainly feature $ucksex and his hype man Mintie Phresh (Pat Ryan), Hard Corey, and an infamous Dinosaurus.

The debut album Rocky Loves Emily has just been remastered for iTunes and other online services. Recorded over four years while $ucksex (Ben Garbe) was attending college at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and originally released in May 2005, this album is probably the most unique record to ever be recorded in a dorm room.

The name does not have anything to do with the awesome and totally unrelated Fat Boys. It comes from the history of $ucksex and his dramatic weight loss ”to get girls“ his junior year of high school. Growing up, $ucksex was the kid you see in movies that gets beat up every day after school and say that there's no way that would happen to anyone in real life. This included but was not limited to trips to the ER and near-shootings and is dramatized somewhat in the song ”My Side of the Tracks“. Originally the name had somewhat of a ”New Radicals“ effect as it was one man with a plural name, but now it makes more sense.

On a lighter note, this version of the album is the re-mastered version of the album Rocky Loves Emily that was originally released in 2005 on RaCheer Records a division of RaCheer Media, Ltd. It features one bonus track entitled ”Snakes on a Plane“ that was recorded for the second as yet untitled Former Fat Boys album that will be released in late 2006. The song took third place in the national contest at www.tagworld.com to appear on the soundtrack for the movie and received more fan votes than either of the two winners combined totaling over 20,000 plays on Tag World and 10,000 plays on MySpace as well as 10,000 downloads from the official site in just under a month. It did not make the soundtrack, however, it is being used by New Line and other companies such as www.mixxer.com to promote the film.

The Former Fat Boys have appeared on MTV's The Reality Show, have performed with mc chris, and are currently writing their second album as well as contributing songs to the musical for a traveling prevention theater charity group run by the R.Ed.I. Foundation. For more on the Former Fat Boys please visit the official website at www.formerfatboys.com.

Songs have appeared on 107.1 WPGU FM Champaign, IL and 88.3 FM The Dog in MacComb as well as radio stations at most Big Ten Universities and other Universities across the US and in Great Britian. In 2006 the Former Fat Boys' song Shake Ya Ta Tas has made it on to Sirius Satelite Radio channel 102. The Former Fat Boys were also a Finalist in Turbo Tax's Tax Rap competition taking home a viewers choice award.

Set List

Former Fat Boys perform completely original hip hop songs. Former Fat Boys aren't awful.

There's nothing worse than having a rapper come in and have no beats other than beats jacked from Lil Jon. Try putting on a hip hop show where 12 rappers come through with their posse and 11 of them do their own rendition of Snap Ya Fingaz. Crowd leaves and stops buying drinks. We don't do that. It's all original, hook driven hip hop you generally only get from major acts.

We'll keep a crowd entertained easily for an hour, but generally aren't allowed to. Basically, as long as you give us, we'll fill it with meaningful awesome testicle dropping content guarnteed to cause everyone in the audience to spazz.

The only song we play at every show is Dinosaurus. Usually as an encore or to close. People have come to expect it and tend to get mad if we don't.

We will occasionally cover something ridiculous like Wild Wild West by Will Smith or Ice Ice Ice Baby. Depends on the audience. Our set list differs for rock/emo/punk shows and more urban hip hop shows.

Basic Stage Requirements

Two mics, setup for a laptop or iPod and/or turn tables. We need to take an 1/8 inch iPod or laptop and run it into the house system. We generally bring what is essentially a small Radio Shack with us in a bag to accomodate all manner of setups.

Space on stage is nice for going crazy. A cramped stage filled with other bands drum kits and amps kinda crips our style, but we're not prima donnas and who are we kidding we have no style, so we can work with anything and would still give you a great show.

Basically, all we request is that we don't have to share a stage with a barnyard full of animals. No wait, that would be awesome. Anything goes, just turn it up to eleven.
